Microsoft is making money on us XP users without our consent and without our knowledge. I think there
should some kind of class action suit here. If MS is going to make money on our using XP then it ought to
pay us royalties or at least make the product free.

This says something about the morals and scruples of Microsoft as well. Kind of makes you wonder to
what extent these guys will go to make a buck!

I feel a bit outraged by this and intend to uninstall media player from my PC?s and go back to using
WinAmp. No usage equals no data sent to Microsoft.

JUST LOOKING Lots of people watch DVDs on their computers. Microsoft's free media player for Windows
XP, on 17 million PCs, is a popular way to do it. It turns out, though, that Microsoft has been logging what
people are watching, and even what songs they're listening to, according to the Associated Press, which
got Redmond to fess up. Microsoft says it's updating the player's privacy disclaimer to warn users. But it
won't rule out selling the information to advertisers down the line. Talk about paying the peeper!
